At Llangollen in Denbighshire visit:-

• Valle Crucis Abbey dating from the 13th century is 2 miles from Llangollen, while the gothic Plas Newydd with its stained glass windows and elaborately carved oak panels is on the outskirts of Llangollen.
• The remains of Castell Dinas Bran (Crow Castle) perched high on an isolated hill above Llangollen can be reached by a steep climb, from where the views of Llangollen and the Dee Valley are superb.

At Corwen in Denbighshire visit:-

• The Rug Chapel and Llangar Church are close together in Corwen, some 10 miles from Llangollen, these beautiful religious sites are well worth a visit. The church retains many ancient features including 15th century wall paintings while the Rug Chapel is a fine example of a private 17th century chapel.
